January
January 1: New Year's Day (Año Nuevo) – Nationwide public holiday; expect closures.
January 6: Epiphany (Día de los Reyes Magos) – Celebrated across Spain with parades on the evening of January 5th; closures on January 6th.
February
February 7–11: Moors and Christians Festival in Bocairent (Valencia) – Historical reenactments and parades.
February 20–23: Copa del Rey de Voleibol in Zaragoza – Top volleyball teams compete in this prestigious tournament.
February 22–March 21: Carnival in Águilas (Murcia), Tenerife (Canary Islands) and Cadiz – Festivities include parades, music, and dancing.

March 15–19: Las Fallas in Valencia – Monumental sculptures are displayed and burned in spectacular ceremonies on the 19th. Other cities in this region have similar festivals around the same dates.
March 30th: Turn your clocks forward as Spain changes to Daylight savings time.

April 13-20: Easter week “Semana Santa” in Spain. The bank holiday dates are Thursday and Friday or Friday and Monday depending on the city. The main processions are in Andalucia (Seville, Malaga, Granada and Cordoba and in many other towns) and throughout Spain, there are some processions in Madrid and in the north but not as many.
April 21–May 4: Mutua Madrid Open – A premier tennis tournament attracting top international players.
April 27 - Madrid´s Rock and Roll Marathon with concerts in several parts of the city. Central streets closed all morning.

May 1: Labor Day (Día del Trabajador) – Europe-wide public holiday. Many businesses close and locals take a long weekend holiday.
May 2 : Dos de Mayo (Madrid): Madrid commemorates the 1808 uprising against Napoleon’s troops with parades, concerts, and reenactments. The city's plazas come alive with celebrations, while traditional chulapo-dressed locals honor this historic day with pride.
May 3 : Fiesta de las Cruces -(Granada & Córdoba): A vibrant celebration where city squares, courtyards, and streets are adorned with beautifully decorated crosses made of flowers. Locals gather for music, dancing, and tapas, creating a lively Andalusian atmosphere.
May 5–18: Courtyards Festival (Córdoba) – Residents decorate their private patios with flowers, open for public viewing.
May 6-11: Feria de Sevilla in Seville. Traditionally taking place 2 weeks after Easter, this year the “April” fair will take place in May. The whole city turns out for this festival where women dress in colorful “flamenco” dresses and men dress in classic, dark colored suits.
May 9–June 15: Feria de San Isidro in Madrid – A series of bullfighting events featuring renowned matadors. The main day of this festival is May 15th with live music and a festive atmosphere in the city center, and a collective picnic at “La Pradera de San Isidro” Park
May 17-24: Feria del Caballo in Jerez. The Horse festival - The city of Jerez takes on a very special air for a week each year, offering the chance to enjoy sherry, flamenco, Spanish horses and a unique ambience that inundates the whole city.
May 30-June 1: Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.

June 14–21: Corpus Christi in Granada – Religious processions and traditional celebrations.
June 23–24: Festival of San Juan – Celebrated nationwide with bonfires and festivities, especially along the coast.

June 28 – July 6 – Madrid Pride (Orgullo Madrid): One of Europe’s largest and most vibrant LGBTQ+ celebrations, Madrid Pride transforms the city into a colorful, high-energy festival with parades, concerts, and cultural events. The main parade down Gran Vía on July 5th is a highlight, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world.
July 6–14: Running of the Bulls (San Fermín) in Pamplona – Famous bull runs, parades, bullfights, concerts and associated week long festivities.
July 10-12: BBK Live Music festival in Bilbao
July 20–27: San Sebastian Jazz Festival “Jazzaldia” - Featuring Jamie Culum and the Beach Boys as well as numerous concerts both indoors and outdoors throughout the city and on the beach.

August 15: Assumption of Mary (Asunción de la Virgen) – Nationwide public holiday with various local celebrations.
August 9-16: Semana Grande in San Sebastián – A week-long festival featuring concerts, fireworks, and cultural events.
